About this monument
The temple, originally contained the deul (sanctuary) and a mandapa (assembly hall). At present only the deul is standing. The temple is of the nagara style. Its sikhara presents an almost imperceptible curvilinear profile. It rises in a number of bhumi states each bhumi is demarcated from the other by a round bhumi amalaka which suggests that the sikhara was once topped by a round amalaka. The entire body of the temple was covered with stucco plaster on which beautiful decorations were made. Most of these ornamental details have disappeared exposing their brick core. The temple enshrined the Jaina Thirthanka Rishabhanatha. Later it was converted into a Saiva shrine. On stylistic ground the temple cannot dated before the 12th century A.D.
