About this monument
This east facing temple is one of the two atchala temples of Bishnupur. It is situated in the Khar Bangla area of the town. The temple is an example of the typical Bishnupuri atchala style in which the break between the upper and lower sets of chala happens to be very narrow which gives an almost charchala appearance to the temples. The temple has lost the entrance wall and the front portion of the upper part of the atchala roof. On the preserved northern and southern side, the temple is embellished with extensive terracottas of high artistic quality. The foundation inscription records the building of the temple by Raghunath Simha in 1659 A.D.
