About this monument

The tomb of Sher Afghan, Governor of Barddhaman and first husband of Mehr-un-Nissa (Nur Zahan, later wife of Emperor Jahangir) and of Qutb-ud-Din, foster brother of Jahangir, lie under a flat-roofed open structure. The tomb of Bahram Sakka, Akbar’s preceptor, lies under a domed structure. Sher Afghan and Qutb-ud-Din died in 1610 A.D. but the tombs were renovated by the King of Barddhaman.
