Visitor Guidelines — Do’s

• Visitors shall enter the monument only upon possession of a valid entry ticket, if the monument is ticketed.
• Visitors shall maintain orderly queues while purchasing entry tickets.
• Entry tickets shall be purchased through ASI-authorized ticket counters, kiosks or any partner websites / applications or by scanning the designated QR code available at the site.
• Visitors shall extend full cooperation to the ticketing, verification, and security personnel during inspection and security checks.
• Vehicles shall be parked in the designated parking areas if it’s available.
• The scheduled opening and closing timings of the monument shall be strictly observed.
• Visitors shall use only the designated pathways within the monument premises.
• Visitors shall comply with all written instructions displayed at the site and with any announcements or directions issued by the officials deployed therein.
• Visitors are encouraged to acquaint themselves with the historical significance of the monument by reading the cultural notice board and accessing the available QR codes, wherever provided.
• Visitors may use ASI-approved guides or official information booklets, wherever available.
• Visitors shall engage only Government-authorized guides and photographers after verifying their valid identity cards.
• Waste shall be disposed of only in the dustbins provided within the monument complex.
• Visitors are encouraged to use the electric carts or battery-operated buses provided, wherever available, for transportation within the site.
• Any graffiti on the monument, or to destroy, remove, alter or deface the monument or part thereof, is strictly prohibited. Incident of such act shall be reported immediately to the security personnel or officials deployed at the site.
• Visitors shall respect the cultural and religious sensitivities, customs, and traditions observed at the monument or site.
• Mobile phones shall be kept in silent mode within the monument premises, particularly in areas where customary or religious practices are being observed, so as to preserve the sanctity of the site.
• Entry into barricaded, cordoned-off, or otherwise restricted areas is strictly prohibited.
• Visitors are encouraged to visit the Site Museum wherever available, to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the monument.
• In the event of any security concern, including unattended articles, theft, quarrels, or any activity likely to cause damage to the monument or site, visitors shall immediately inform the security personnel or officials deployed at the site.
• Visitors shall comply with all applicable rules and regulations governing filming and videography within the monument premises.
• Photography is strictly prohibited in restricted areas containing sensitive artworks, antiquities, or artifacts where such prohibition has been specifically notified.
• Visitors are encouraged to keep children under their supervision and educate them about the importance of preserving the monument and the nation’s cultural heritage.
• Monuments are places of historical, cultural, and national significance. They shall not be used as picnic spots, party venues, or commercial backdrops. Visitors shall respect the dignity, sanctity, and purpose of these heritage sites.
• Visitors shall take care of their personal belongings. The Archaeological Survey of Indiaभारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षणভারতীয় পুরাতত্ত্ব সর্বেক্ষণ (ASI) shall not be held responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
• In the event of an emergency or disaster, visitors shall remain calm and proceed immediately to the designated assembly area or any open space as directed by the security personnel or other authorized officials.

Visitor Guidelines — Don’ts

• Visitors shall not enter the monument premises without a valid entry ticket, wherever applicable.
• Visitors shall not argue with or obstruct the ticket-counter officials, government staff or security personnel, nor refuse to comply with instructions relating to prohibited items, security procedures, movement within the premises, or restricted entry.
• Visitors shall not enter or remain within the monument premises beyond the prescribed visiting hours.

Visitors shall not carry any prohibited items into the monument premises, including but not limited to:

• Food items (including chewing gum) and beverages, except drinking water.
• Tobacco products, pan masala, alcoholic beverages or any intoxicating substances.
• Candles, diyas, lighters, and matchboxes.
• Arms, ammunition, explosives, inflammable materials, or any hazardous substances.
• Sharp-edged objects such as knives, scissors, blades, pins, needles, or similar articles.
• Spray cans, colours, tripods, torches, loudspeakers, microphone systems, large bags, helmets, mats, drones, or any other items prohibited by the Competent Authority.

• Visitors shall not carve names, scribble, draw graffiti, affix stickers, scratch, or otherwise deface any part of the monument or its structures. Such acts cause irreparable damage to the nation’s cultural heritage and constitute a punishable offence under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Act, 1958, punishable with a fine of up to ₹1,00,000 and/or imprisonment for a term extending up to two years.
• Flying drones, using tripods, or undertaking photography, videography, or filming for commercial or professional purposes without prior written permission from the Competent Authority is strictly prohibited.
• Visitors shall not climb upon, walk over or sit on any monument, protected structure, or excavated remains.
• Visitors shall not enter or walk on lawns, water tanks, fountains, or any landscaped areas unless specifically permitted.
• Visitors shall not enter areas that have been barricaded or designated as restricted.
• Visitors shall not overcrowd or obstruct movement within any part of the monument premises.
• Visitors shall not block pathways, passages, or visitor movement while taking photographs, group photographs, or selfies.
• The use of selfie sticks in crowded areas is prohibited, as they may damage delicate surfaces of the monument and pose a safety risk to other visitors.
• Visitors shall not play music, use loudspeakers, speak loudly, shout, or otherwise disturb the peace and dignity of the monument.
• Visitors shall not organize or perform any customary, religious, cultural, ceremonial, commercial, promotional, or entertainment activities without prior permission from the Competent Authority.
• Visitors shall not perform religious or ritualistic activities that are not traditionally or officially practiced at the monuments / sites.
• Visitors shall not disseminate or promote false information, misleading narratives, conspiracy theories, or misinformation concerning the monument or its history.
• Visitors shall not indulge in any obscene, indecent, or inappropriate behaviour within the monument premises.
• Visitors shall not obstruct emergency exits, fire-fighting equipment, or any emergency access routes.
• Visitors shall not disregard emergency instructions, safety protocols, evacuation procedures, or alarms issued by the Competent Authority or security personnel.
• Playing sports, recreational games, or engaging in any activity inconsistent with the dignity and preservation of the monument is prohibited.
• Pets and domestic animals shall not be brought into the monument premises.
