Kalna Sub-Circle
About this monument
It is a potential site awaiting extensive excavation. Such a venture requires the removal of the houses raised over it. During 1934-35, Archaeological Survey of India carried out a trial excavation at the site. The antiquities, unearthed as a result, include pottery and stucco heads of the 6th-8th century A.D. From the surface were collected Kushana, Gupta, Sasanka’s and Akbari coins. Besides, the site also yielded terracottas of various descriptions.
