About this monument

The site is situated on the G.T. Road not far from the Adi Saptagram Rly. Station (E.Rly.). The site possesses the remains of a ruined brick-built mosque of rectangular plan. Its roof is lost but the front, rear and side walls are partially preserved. Traces of its two aisled interior may be noticed. It has angle buttresses on the exterior. A few of them have not entirely disappeared. Limited terracotta decoration depicting lotus boss, spiraling tendrils of creepers, grill motif, arabesque and geometric patterns adorned the mosque. One Arabic inscription, built into the front of the mosque, records that the monument was built by Jamal-ud-Din Husain of Amul in 1529 A.D. during the reign of Nusrat Shah. On the south-eastern corner of the mosque are three graves believed to be of Sayyid Fakr-ud-Din, his wife and his Khoja.
