About this monument

The temple is one of the profusely decorated dalan-type temples of Bengal. It has an oblong verandah behind which is the sanctum chamber. The verandah has a triple-arched façade. The temple was built by King Trailokyachandra as an abode of Tripurantaka, comparable to mount Kailasa was built in 1764 A.D. The marble slab on which the dedicatory inscription is engraved, is obviously a replacement of the original record.
