The bathing ghat on the western bank of the river Ganges is within the jurisdiction of the Belur Math. This massive brick structure consists of 30 steps, the total length being 15 m and width 6.9 m. The ghat is more than 150 years old. Saradamani Devi, wife of Ramakrishna, used to sit on the steps of this ghat. Hence this ghat has become a place of pilgrimage to the monks of the Ramakrishna Mission and devotees of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda.
