About this monument
Sri Ramhari Biswas and Pandit Ramkrishna Biswas, the then landlords of Khardaha, built this complex of 26 temples of Siva on the western bank of the river Ganges. These temples are arranged in two groups, one comprising 20 temples and the other on the left of the former consisting 6 temples. Each group has its own separate enclosure and a courtyard. Temples of both the groups stand on a high brick built podium. Those of the larger group are in a square formation around a courtyard. Ornate designs of creepers and flower on plaster embellish almost all the temples.
